How the project began, what the Parrot changed, and what this first week has already revealed
Some projects begin with a simple idea and stay that size. This has not been one of them.
Gentle Purpose, Bright Wing began as a way of working with the Sage’s Golden Path Venus Retreat over the next six months, starting with my Purpose Sphere and what I thought might be a smaller, shorter creative journey. But then the Parrot entered, and everything opened wider. (How did the Dream Arc Parrot enter? Check out our recent podcast for that story!)
What I thought might become an occasional video or a brief month of reflection started to grow into something much more layered and alive: a 6-month project weaving together Instagram reels, short spoken reflection videos, art process, index card prompts, occasional course material, YouTube, and this space on our website. More than that, it began to take on the feeling of a real creative rhythm — one rooted in healing, embodiment, tenderness, and the bright-hearted energy of joy.
At the heart of Gentle Purpose, Bright Wing is a quieter relationship to purpose (mine is Gene Key 37 Weakness-Equality-Tenderness). I wanted to explore what happens when purpose is not something I push toward through force, performance, or self-improvement, but something I listen for through softness, art, and the body’s own knowing. The Parrot* brought something essential to that path: color, expression, wonder, movement, and the reminder that transformation does not have to be separate from delight.

Each week of the project is beginning to find its own rhythm. At the start of the week, I share a slideshow that opens the theme. Then I make a short spoken reflection video in response to one of the inner-work questions I’ve gathered for the Gene Key and sphere I’m moving through. Alongside that, I create an art process piece, placing one of those questions onto an index card and letting softness, joy, color, and image guide the making. From time to time, I’m also bringing parts of this process into my course, Playful Pondering**, through longer behind-the-scenes or instructional videos.
After this first introductory week, I can already feel that the project is becoming more than content. It is becoming a real rhythm of making, reflecting, and letting something unfold — both creatively and inwardly — over time. The first week held a kind of fierce creativity that left me tired and expanded at once, but it also made clear that this is a rhythm I can keep entering. I can already sense that by the middle of the week, I’ll be ready to begin again.
What feels most important to me is that this project stays open — open to the transformation of the artistic process and of the project itself, just as much as to the inner transformation that may come through it. Gentle Purpose, Bright Wing is becoming a path of healing, reflection, embodiment, and bright expression, and I’m grateful to be beginning it here.
Although I share the videos on YouTube and an occasional article here on our website. The full project as it comes out will be on my Instagram account: Artistic Mystic Meghan.

** I have an easy course called Playful Pondering in the online membership: Gene Keys Unleashed with Hayley Curtis. There is no extra charge for the course and the link gives you a free month in the membership. The course teaches you how to make index card art like I am creating in this project. It combines inner inquiry while soothing your nervous system by playing with paper and glue.
