Hello dear friends, and welcome to Episode 14 of Conversations With A Couple of Crones, where we have the juiciest conversation about Trust.
We have called this Episode “Trust in Our Inner Work” for two reasons … Firstly, because we deeply trust IN this work that we are doing; and secondly, because trust is an integral part OF the work we are doing.
You can choose to listen to this episode as a Podcast while you go about your day, or you can grab a cuppa and join us in our video as we chat – just click the film icon on the player below 🎞️
Of course, we started as we always do with our question “Where am I now?”.
It’s Meghan’s birthday week … Happy Birthday, Meghan! 🎉🎈
You’ll hear Meghan talk about her 40-day journey with Robin and with Teresa of Ávila. You can find out more about Meghan’s journey here.
You’ll hear me (Lizzie) talk about how very tired I am, yet also how energised I am by this work. I am looking forward to a couple of months of quiet integration and introspection once Devoted is finished.
But I have to say, that I am also feeling energised by this work.
We’re in our Brand now on our Devoted journey with Hayley, and although this wonderful website of ours isn’t a business per se, because we’re not making money from doing it, I AM applying the energy of my Brand of Dynamism to it. And I am seeing it through this lens of the Brand, where Richard Rudd talks about businesses being ORGANISMS and NOT ORGANISATIONS.
I can feel our website content growing organically, and it’s an absolute delight for me. Like the content we are creating at this moment … this podcast, articles I’ve written, Meghan’s journey with Robin, and our December’s Bite Sized Bravery … they are all about trust.
Which led us neatly onto the first question we are going to ponder today …
Why is trust so important on our inner journey?
For me, again and again on this voyage of self-discovery, I have come to see that there are two sister themes that run through my entire chart, indeed, through my entire life … Love and Trust.
Trust is everything. It is the golden thread that holds the tapestry of this inner work together for me.
Richard Rudd says this …
Trust doesn't appear in any of the Siddhis of the Gene. It's not a Siddhi but it underlies them all.
You have to trust in those Siddhis, you have to trust in those Shadows, you have to trust that those Shadows will reveal those Gifts.
And almost every issue confronting humanity is an issue of trust at the deepest, deepest level.
I have GK48 in my Purpose sphere … (that’s the Shadow of Inadequacy, the Gift of Resourcefulness, the Siddhi) … and for me, it is the ultimate trust Gene Key. It is the void, it is the deep well of wisdom we all carry inside us, it is the unknown.
I spoke about how I see this trust in the unknown in all of my other keys.
I feel this invitation into trusting myself, my path, my dharma, in all of my other keys.
I am trusting my own growth.
Meghan talked about how often Richard mentions trust in so many of the Gene Keys, and how there are many flavours of trust … trust in your emotions, trust in your body, trust in others and in your ability to ask others for help … even trusting the way money moves in and out of your life.
We had the most delicious conversation about trust, weaving my Gene Key 48 together with Gene Key 57, which Meghan is travelling with in her 40-day journey. Meghan spoke so beautifully about the field of unease, and about intuition … it was marvellous! “Fear is not inside you, it is a field that you may live in, pass through, or ascend beyond.” 🤯❤️🔥
We talked about our trust in the Gene Keys.
I would never have believed I could feel this level of trust. I’ve been so hurt and used by people in the past, that’s why there were so many damn walls up, that I ever would have believed this level of trust could be available to me.
But here it is, like a golden treasure, sitting in my heart.
I am safe to trust.
At about half an hour in, we give you some ideas (not techniques) about how you can bring trust in … patiently and trustingly!!
I drop into the well of not knowing every single time that I open my journal and start to write. Nearly 30 years of doing this has taught me that it is safe to dive into the well of not knowing because eventually the pearl of wisdom will be waiting for me.
We then pondered the question …
Where are we mistrusting?
Interestingly, even though we hadn’t discussed this beforehand, except to decide on the question itself, we both talked about how we mistrust our bodies … for different reasons, but fascinating that we both mistrust in our bodies.
And we finished, as always, with our whimsical questions to each other!
We hope that you’ve enjoyed listening to our podcast as much as we enjoyed recording it! Be sure to go and check out our December Bite Sized Bravery offering, for lots of ideas about how you can bring more trust into your life as this crazy busy time of year!
Until next time, my friends!
