I come this week bearing the gift of the term Embrace. This completes the trio of words Lizzie and I began a month ago. I am going to repeat something I wrote in my essay on the term Allow (but emphasizing Embrace) so that you can be reminded where this simple word fits in the parlance of the Gene Keys. And if you haven’t already, I encourage you to read Lizzie’s article on Accept.
Simple But Not Easy
The verb/action Embrace is simple, and yet not necessarily easy in the lexicon of the Gene Keys.
Embrace is part of a trinity of words/concepts/embodied actions: “Allow, Accept, Embrace.” And Allow, Accept, Embrace is part of a further trinity of words, “Pause, Pivot, Merge” that is part of The Art of Contemplation (as found in the book of that name).
- In Richard Rudd’s description of these techniques, Pausing is a form of mental contemplation and can result in Insight, and Merging is a form of physical contemplation and can result in Epiphany.
- Pivoting is in the middle and is a form of emotional contemplation that can result in Breakthrough.
- Part of the Pivoting contemplation is the trio of stages that lead to Breakthrough: Allow, Accept and Embrace.
- I’m talking about THIS Embrace here in this article.

I felt called today to share my understanding of the word Embrace in an audio. It is the culmination of the process of Allow, Accept and Embrace and the precision of my definition wanted my voice.

Here is a quote from the book I referenced in my audio. The Art of Contemplation (which never once speaks about the Gene Keys, for those not into them), is a tiny treasure.
The final stage is embracing and it is the culmination of any breakthrough. Once an emotional shadow pattern has been fully accepted at the deepest level, it is effectively purged from our system. The painful memory that gave rise to the difficulty has been met with our deepest, most heartfelt compassion. It has been allowed to express itself without being projected onto another as blame. Neither have we in any way repressed the shadow as something shameful that we wish to forget.
Richard Rudd, The Art of Contemplation

When I weave together the concepts from these last two quotes, Richard Rudd’s and Wayne Dyer’s I giggle happily to myself. Ten years ago I might have understood Wayne’s thoughts and found myself in relationship with both the “good guys” and the “villains” but I would have blamed the bad guys for my woes and looked to the friends and loved ones for validation. Now part of my “Embracing them all, and moving on to the next act.” is taking radical responsibility for myself and part of that responsibility is to Allow my emotions, Accept the discomfort and listen to what they have to tell me and then Embrace those feelings in order to breakthrough and let them transform me and my life. Blame is not part of my inner dialogue anymore, I find my validation within and meet anything I’ve repressed with courage and compassion.

Over a period of time through our great courage, the pattern has been transformed, and in a beautiful twist it has become something remarkable - it has become grace. Grace can take many forms - it can come as forgiveness, self-empowerment, humility or any other profound sense of emotional resolution. The essence of the breakthrough is that our pain reveals its true higher purpose which is to bring us a profound sense of wholeness and love.

Once again I wish to offer my gratitude to you, our readers, for reading/listening to our personal descriptions of these potent words that make up part of the robust and delicious transmission that is the Gene Keys, and the art of contemplation, all brought to you by the humble Richard Rudd. May you find yourself resonating with some of our thoughts and words and may you find breakthrough again and again.
