Welcome to Episode 2 of Conversations With A Couple Of Crones, or CWACOC as we lovingly call this creation of ours. (You can listen to the podcast version or watch the video – click on the film icon!)

In this episode, we begin with the question, “Where am I now?”, which is a fabulous way to ground yourself, when you are doing this deep inner work, where sometimes it can feel as if the changes are coming thick and fast. “Where am I now?” can help to bring you INTO the now. It’s a great way to orient yourself when you’re going through this transformational process.

We plan to start each of our conversations in this way.

This question is related to Meghan’s Evolution Gene Key 20, and it’s all about presence.

Where Am I Now?

In this week’s episode, you’ll hear Meghan talk about the excitement she is feeling about her new Dream Arc space, which is a beautiful part of Gene Keys Unleashed with Hayley Curtis. And of course, her excitement about Spring’s return.

And you’ll hear me talk about my excitement to be embarking on the Quest of my Venus Stream. We are both loving being in our Venus Sequence.

(The Venus Sequence is all about our relationships, and I have to say that this relationship with Meghan is one of the most glorious I’ve ever experienced … and I know that as we go forward, weaving our stories together here in this CWACOC space, is going to give us both the perfect opportunity to see our Venus Gifts in action … Resourcefulness and Equality, Synergy and Precision, Discrimination and Equilibrium, Humanity and Imagination, Freedom and Precision (again!!), Graciousness and Leadership! Oh my goodness, it’s going to be amazing!)

The Art of Contemplation

This week we had a question from the lovely Lizzie Pickles …

I’d love to hear you both riff on the “Art of Contemplation” and how you both harvest pausing throughout your day.

We had such a glorious conversation about pausing, about how we both bring that mental and emotional space into our everyday life. We talked a lot about patience!!! Patience is in both of our “words for the year” for 2025.

We talked about the rhythms of nature, and about our own personal rhythms, and finding the natural pauses. And we talked about how the Art of Contemplation can be like a dance, and how it is possible to “busily” pause, with lots of thoughts and emotions swirling around in our heads, and lots of activity, and Meghan spoke about how life gifted her a “patient” pause when she had her hip operations.

Our Favourite Gene Keys

We had the most delicious conversation about our favourite Gene Keys in our own charts (right now!).

Meghan chose Gene Key 40, which she has in both her Radiance and Culture Spheres, and which her mum also had in her chart, in her Core Wound no less! So, this is a very meaningful Gene Key for Meghan, which she has been working on her whole life, long before the Gene Keys came into her life.

Gene Key 40 is the Shadow of Exhaustion, the Gift of Resolve, and the Siddhi of Divine Will.

“Rest can imbue our life when we’re resolved not to give in to excess. Having this Gift also means that we can inspire others. When a stressed out person meets a deeply fulfilled person, a powerful exchange takes place. Be that fulfilled person, and the world will begin to change.” – Richard Rudd, 64 Ways

Meghan brought in her Dream Arc Life Key animal, the Cat. What a delicious conversation about the use of your own personal energy, about exhaustion, and spending your precious energy doing what feeds your soul.

I chose Gene Key 48, which is my Purpose key. My oh my, but this is a deeeeep Gene Key and I talked about how this Gene Key invites us into the void inside us, and how we carry our own wisdom inside ourselves.

Gene Key 48 is the Shadow of Inadequacy, the Gift of Resourcefulness, and the Siddhi of Wisdom.

“Wisdom lies between the words, behind the concepts. It’s older than the mind. It may be reached through the mind, like sunlight through a prism, but it doesn’t attach itself anywhere. It emerges spontaneously, right from the heart of creation. Wisdom is alive.” – Richard Rudd, 64 Ways

Gene Key 48 tells us … Wisdom is rooted in not knowing (thank you, Hayley!)

(Spoiler alert, I can get a bit evangelical and so very enthusiastic once I get started on this Gene Key!! And when I get excited, boy oh boy, does that Scottish-Lizzie accent of mine come out to play!!)

And We End with a Touch of Whimsy

Listen in to each episode to hear us pose a whimsical question that the other is not expecting!!

Meghan’s whimsical question to me has triggered so much contemplation about my writing, which just goes to show that even the most seemingly “trivial” or “simple” thing can lead you into deep contemplation, if you stay open and curious!
