A Travel Essay from the Inner Journey
Entering the Sphere of Attraction in the Sage’s Golden Path Retreat has been an absolute delight for me. I was literally delighted and enchanted by my Sage Word and Line …
Myth
The language of myth as the telepathic higher language of humanity
Gene Key 62.6 Sage Word, The Sage’s Golden Path Retreat
My entire Gene Keys experience has been like a mythic quest. I talk in terms of archetypes and myths. I envisage my journey through the Golden Path as a mythic quest. I have so much mental imagery around knights and valour and quests.
“Myth” fits me like a second skin! I was born to be part of a great saga!
Myth
If “interiority”, my Life’s Work Sage word, was utterly perfect for me, a woman who dives deep into her own interior world every day, then “myth” is the perfect word for what I encounter in my interior world. It is the perfect word to describe not only the wonder of the landscape there, and for the myriad treasures I find therein; it also describes who I am in that interiority.
You see, I have this ever-expanding vision of a vast internal world which is part Middle Earth, part Phillip Jose Farmer’s World of Tiers, part Irish land of the Sidhe, an saol eile …the “other world”.
The sun is always shining in this interior world of mine. It’s a land where summer reigns supreme, because it’s a land of flowers and lush, fecund vegetation. Storms do come in … great dramatic thunder storms, as Shadows rise, but these pass quickly; they drench the land with much needed rain and leave this mythic, fantastical inner world nourished and fresh, with petrichor filling my nostrils.

The Heroine of my own Myth
And I am the heroine in this saga. Myth is my happy place. Story is my language.
I am the mythic warrior, fighting for love. I am the mythic crone, hiding out in the woods. I am the mythic gardener, who can make anything grow, even in parched and barren land.
“Myth”, oh such a perfect word for a woman who loves stories … reading them, hearing them, telling them. I am writing the great story of this Sage’s journey, and it feels like a myth in the making.
I can’t wait to explore this more, and to understand how it works in my Attraction sphere. I’m only a week into letting this Sage word settle upon my being, and I know there is much to discover here.
Everyone has their own personal mythology. I will be attracted to, and I will attract in, myths which speak this higher language. It’s pretty huge, and I am doing my best NOT to get caught in the Gene Key 62 trap of explaining everything with words … But of course, I had to look at my bible (Roget’s Thesaurus!) …
Myth … fantasy, visionary, fable, ideality, narrative, storyline, fairytale, legend, saga, history
A myth can be a cautionary tale, but for me, myth is all magic. Myth is the magical Imaginarium inside my head and heart, where I get to write the story I want to tell about myself.
Myth feels so much more me than “autobiography”. This story I am gathering the fragments of as I journey with the Sage feels magical; it feels fantastic; and there is nothing dull or ordinary about it.
I love that “myth” is the word for 62.6, it’s perfect! Gene Key 62 is all about language; the Line 6 is the ecstatic visionary in the pack. So, to have “myth” here feels quite tricksterish of Richard Rudd! I am all about words, but I want them to be wild imaginings, fabled beasts, poetry, knights and dragons, heroic sagas.

The Language of Myth
The language of myth as the telepathic higher language of humanity
Everyone understands myth. Every culture, every race, every religion, all have their myths, all have their stories that are woven through their understanding of the world.
All have myths that are handed down by the previous generations. All have myths that permeate the milieu, and no one really knows where they came from.
And the myths are universal in nature … good versus evil; the underdog; the suffering that precedes grace. There are white knights and black nights. There are witches. There are strangers. There are changelings. All of these archetypes, and more, walk these halls of myth, no matter the culture, race or religion. And while their garb and backstories might differ, every culture would recognise their own myths in the tales told in a completely alien culture.
Myth goes so much deeper than intellect or “normal” understanding. Myth contacts the primal parts of us, our primitive mind, our bones, our deep inner knowing. You could watch a myth portrayed by a Japanese Noh theatre group, knowing nothing about these spiritual, masked dramas, knowing nothing of the story, and yet you would KNOW the story in your body; the “goodies” and the “baddies”, without actually understanding any of it intellectually. You would know it on a deep, intuitive level.
I think this is what Richard means when he talks about the “telepathic” higher language of humanity. Myth is about right and wrong. Myth is about good conquering evil. Myth is about going through trials and suffering in order to reach redemption. These are themes that all humans understand.
We can even understand on a deep, possibly non-verbal level, when people are corrupted, evil, controlling. They are playing out the baser characters in the myths. We may not like it, but it is part of the human journey. And we recognise it and we understand it.
I do feel as if I am writing down the mythic saga of my life, as I write in my journal. And when I share my writing, I feel as if I am a storyteller, sitting by the campfire, passing on the myth to others, so that they might take heart, and start to create their own mythology and storylines.
For we all have stories to tell.
But more importantly, we have our own stories to live. You can change your life by changing your attitude to the story you are living. You can go from being the downtrodden character in a never-ending soap opera, to being the heroine in your own epic saga. All it takes is a shift in attitude, which shifts your perception from soap opera (drama) to myth (dharma).

Telepathy
The Sage Line for my myth talks about telepathy … the language of myth as the telepathic higher language of humanity … and I love that. The way I see this as bringing balance is how it becomes intuitive. This Lovely language of myth and archetype is so easy; it is so natural that it is bringing a natural balance in its wake.
My Shadow here is Intellect, facts and figures, information, definitions, tight, constricted. Intellect can fool you into thinking it is balanced … right and wrong, fact and fable, good and evil. But it’s not balanced. It is only part of the picture. It is the mind’s part of the picture. It misses the whole, vast, infinite world of feeling, emotion, spirit and soul, the deep feminine of heart-centred intelligence. There can be no balance without bringing in this whole other world of intuition and heart.
This question made me think about that thing that Richard says … “Today’s facts are tomorrow’s fables”.
Things we thought were “real” are no longer real (like the flat earth, and the earth being the centre of the universe).
I am also reminded of something Hayley and I talked about when I was first travelling my Golden Path with her as my Guide … a tree … scientific facts of the tree versus aboriginal understanding of a tree as a being.
This sage word, Myth, pulls both the Intellect and the Precision together.
While myth might not sound “real” when you are in the Shadow of Intellect, myth is story, and story is actually the only real thing there is. What survives when the external structure falls apart and disintegrates? Story!
And me, telling MY myth, that helps other people to access their own. I’m not telling people how they should heal. I’m saying, this is the story of my wounding and my healing, go write your own story. Because we all have this inside us.

The Sutra … “that which sews and holds things together”
The Sutra for Gene Key 62.6 at first seemed very simple, but the more I have contemplated it and allowed it to seep into my heart and mind, the more multifaceted and richer it feels. I recognised the three languages Richard describes, I’ve spoken these languages, I’ve lived inside their realities …
The Lovely Language
The lonely language that no one speaks,
The homely language that all understand,
The lovely language of unravelling realms,
The only language that brings unity to all.
Gene Key 62.6 Sage Sutra, The Sage’s Golden Path Retreat
If that is not One Ring to Rule Them All, I don’t know what is!!
It was a glorious portal into my understanding of Gene Key 62. GK62 is all about language and words. When I read the sutra, it was felt as sigh of relief that rippled through my entire body.

The lonely language that no one speaks
I used to speak a lonely language. For a long time, I felt like an alien in my own life. I felt as if no one spoke my language. It certainly felt as if no one understood me. As a very young child, I would talk about things that only I knew … the life I lived before this one, the imaginary world I played in, the incredibly vivid dreams I had of flying.
Then, as I grew up and into adulthood, this feeling of differentness continued. I was the outsider always. I might as well have been speaking my own language, because I could never find my way into other people’s conversations.
For decades I thought this alienation happened because there was something wrong with me; but I know now that it was that I really did speak a different language, I had to, it was inevitable, because I hadn’t yet found my people, my fractal.

The homely language that all understand
Immediately, what came to me with this line was the language of motherhood. I may not have been talking the same language as my milieu or even my biological family, but with a baby and child as a buffer, I was able to speak the language of motherhood. Even though the fact of motherhood terrified me, because I was so afraid all the time that I was getting it wrong, I could talk about my beautiful baby, I could talk about breastfeeding and the first words and the first steps. That was my homely language.
More people pay attention to you when you’re holding a child, or at least, that’s how it felt to me. For the first time in my life, I felt a sense of belonging in that extended clan of new mothers.
And as my child grew, he and I spoke the same language. We had our own homely language, where we could babble together all day long. People used to remark about how much we talked to each other, but my son was the first human being I felt completely comfortable with. Being his mum gave me a homely language that made me feel a sense of belonging like nothing I had ever felt before. I was on the inside for the first time.

The lovely language of unravelling realms,
The lovely language … ah, this was felt as so much more than a sigh; this was a whoop of delight.
The language of the Gene Keys is the lovely language.
This is my language, this language of archetype and myth, so this lovely language does fit me like a second skin.
And the other glorious thing is how this language has expanded my life, my world, and my own lexicon. I now have 64 words for love. I’ve got 13 of my own personal words for love in my chart to wrap around my heart. Isn’t that delicious?!
For me, the “lovely” language is the language of my inner world. I started to tap into this nearly thirty years ago, when I started journaling, and this lovely dialogue with myself began. In the written language of my interiority, I found understanding, I found truths that had been hidden to me. I found myself … the self who had also been hidden from me by layers of trauma, self-loathing and fear began to materialise. It didn’t matter that in the external world I was still trapped by the lonely language; in my inner world, I could talk to myself in this lovely language of trust and imagination.
I began to write a new story in this new language, that was really an ancient language. It was my mother tongue. I had discovered my voice under all those layers of obfuscation, and finally I was able to make myself understood, even if it was just to myself.
And then I found the Gene Keys and the real unravelling of hidden realms began! I found a whole lexicon that described my inner world. I learned of Shadows, Gifts and Siddhis. I learned of the spheres and the pathways.
And I started to learn the many words for love … Liberation, Honour, Valour and Wisdom. Impeccability, Purity, Illumination, Freedom and Humility. Universal Love and Awakening.
And that’s just the Siddhis in my Golden Path! There is a whole treasure chest of words … Bounteous and Fathomless depths of words to describe this fantastic inner realm of mine.
It is a language of archetype and myth, and I am so at home there!
And so to my Thesaurus I go …
Language … tongue, speech, idiom, talk, dialect, living language
It is my language.
The language of the Gene Keys is a living language that finally I can share with others.

The only language that brings unity to all
And there is the glorious gift inside this language … other people speak the same language as me!! I am no longer alone! I can have long, deep, meaningful conversations with people who get me, who speak this tongue of archetype, who know what I mean when I talk in the language of myth.
When I stepped into this world and started to speak this language, at last I had found my mother tongue. I have found my tribe in this fractal of Gene Keys geeks and devotees, and at last I can talk about the inner work with people who get me, who know what I’m talking about.
I can talk about my Shadows without feeling like I will be judged. I can talk about my Gifts in the same way (and no, I’m not blowing my own trumpet, mother!). And I can talk about glimpsing my Siddhis, about the absolute wonder of seeing the treasures I am uncovering in this work, and know that I am talking heart to heart, and soul to soul with people who get me!
Discovering this mother tongue of the Gene Keys was like waking up form a dream and finding myself inside my dream life!
My life is full of love and shared words. My love of language, which I have had since I was a young child, has expanded to include a love of my own language. I am in love with the words I fill the pages of my journals with.
And I love that fact that I am no longer the only one speaking my chosen dialect. There are many of us. And more people will be touched by the truth of the Gene Keys, even if they never know anything about them, because of the ripple effect all of us native speakers send out into the collective.
I am here to tell this truth, to share this language.
I am here to speak these words of love.
I am here to live this mythic life.

The Lovely Language and the Summer Rain
To select the photographs I used in this essay, I went through my Flickr camera roll, and chose shots that could have come from a myth … the eerie Salisbury Cathedral shots, the standing stone at Avebury, a wild woman dancing in a crop circle, the witch’s gingerbread house, the blood red spring at Glastonbury … and faeries in my garden!!
