A Travel Essay from the Inner Journey

We have just moved into our EQ sphere in the Sage’s Golden Path Retreat. This is a fascinating and exciting part of the Gene Keys journey for me, because it relates to the developmental years between 8 and 14. The first two years of this period of my life were the happiest of my whole childhood. I was becoming myself, having passed that important 7-year-old watershed.

[Around the age of seven, children enter a developmental phase known as the age of reason. “The age of reason refers to the developmental cognitive, emotional, and moral stage in which children become more capable of rational thought, have internalized a conscience, and have better capacity to control impulses (than in previous stages),” – Dana Dorfman, PhD.]

And it was also the last two years of my dad’s life, my dad who was my hero and my safe harbour. So, these early EQ years truly were the golden years of my childhood. And the Gene Key I have here, 64.5, is so amazing. It’s the Shadow of Confusion, the Gift of Imagination and the Siddhi of Illumination. I have always thought that the Gift of Imagination was so perfect for this period of my life, with all its adventures and possibilities. And then there came the Shadow of Confusion, when my dad, my rock, my anchor, was suddenly gone and life was all confusion and chaos.

My EQ Sage Word and Line

Oh, how I am loving taking part in the Sage’s Golden Path Retreat. The Sage words and lines which Richard Rudd has written for each of the lines of each of the Gene Keys are simply wonderful. I am loving Richard’s whimsical, poetic, playful approach. I am loving how each of my Sage words and lines make me think about my Gene Keys in an entirely different way.

I know that the Gene Keys aren’t for everyone, I know that for some people they feel like “religion” or dogma. But, for me, they are simply a poetic, archetypal approach to doing the inner work. The Gene Keys speak a language full of wonder and layers of meaning, that helps me to understand myself better.

With these new Sage words, that feeling of wonder has grown even more sparkly! The layers have gotten even more interesting and intricate. My understanding of myself has deepened.

And the Sage word and line for Gene Key 64.5, are just so perfect for me.

Starseed!! Wow!! I just love this Sage word. Starseed feels so perfect for this magical key of Imagination. It also feels perfect for my EQ. I know that there was trauma in those years, there was the greatest loss of my life, but in the first couple of years of my EQ I was in a state of bliss. I was a little Starseed, floating around in my own magical, made-up world. I was a seed on the wind.

Starseed now, as an adult, as a crone, is something so much bigger.

Starseed now speaks to me of connection. It speaks to me of the truth that we are all formed from the material of the stars, no matter the colour of our skin, no matter our beliefs, no matter where on the planet we choose call home. We are all made of stardust. Or, as Joni Mitchell said it so beautifully … “We are stardust, we are golden”.

Starseed is an Invitation

Starseed feels like an invitation to open myself to the deepest secrets of the universe. Trace the atoms of my body back far enough and you will find the star that gave birth to me. Or, as the astrobiologists at NASA put it … “We’re all made of the stuff from stars!”

That is a humbling thought. We can get so caught up in the confusion of life; we can think that our problems are massive and insurmountable. We can feel trapped by all that we have to do to navigate this human life. But really, we are but tiny specks in a vast universe, we are made from the matter of stars long gone.

But we are also the seeds of tomorrow. The Sage word is “Starseed” not “stardust”, which would have been the more obvious choice. We are not just fragments of stars that once were, we are the seeds of stars to come. We are seeds that hold an infinite number of glittering possibilities. We are seeds of the future humans. We have an opportunity here, in this life, to plant seeds for a bright future. A future lit by iridescent starlight.

Once again, I am seeing so many connections to my other keys. I am seeing the link back across the Pathway of Intelligence to that diamond self of my IQ. I am seeing a bridge of starlight up to my SQ and onto my Pearl.

Starseed. I feel as if I have been given another name for my inner self. “Affinity” was the name I gave her in my Activation Sequence. “Starseed” shall be the name of my inner child. She is as bright as any star, she is a sun, a supernova. She is packed with possibilities.

Oh, how I love this Sage word. I am so lucky. I have the best words!! And this, this Starseed, it is the most magical word so far. (And that’s saying something … I’ve already got “myth” and “affinity”!!).

Starseed is the stuff of myth, she is my magical self.

Starseed creates something from nothing.

Starseed creates order from Confusion, because she has the Imagination to make magic.

Illuminated Self-Belief

That is a big responsibility. Changing the world? That is the stuff of legend and myth. That is the territory of great leaders. And the Sage has placed that mantle on my shoulders?! That could be scary. That could be overwhelming, especially for this 64th Shadow of Confusion, who craves consistency to feel safe.

Changing the world asks me to step out of my safety zone and into the light. That’s a leap that seems too huge for a simple woman like me.

Change the world? Me? That’s scary enough to get me scurrying back into my shell.

But just imagine that I truly am Starseed.

Just imagine that I am older than time and hold in me the seeds of infinite tomorrows.

That changes things. That changes my viewpoint. That changes EVERYTHING.

Changing the World

The Sage line is “Illuminated self-belief that can truly change the world” and that is where I shall begin this journey that might some day work changes in the world.

I know, from all the work that I have done over the last three and a half years of diving into my Gene Keys, that all change, all transformation, comes from a place of self-love. I have seen how loving myself has altered the fabric of my being. I have witnessed transformations in my external world that all come about because I love myself.

Self-belief is the sister of self-love. Self-belief, for me anyway, came first. Self-belief opened the door that allowed self-love to come into my life. My journey to find my self-belief began nearly 30 years ago, and it is an exploration that continues every single day.

Self-belief is one of the emotional/mental/spiritual muscles that I must work every day, to ensure I do not slip back into the Shadowlands of Struggle and Inadequacy. Or into this Gene Key 64 Shadow of Confusion, which is always bubbling under the surface.

The Programming Partner of Doubt ensures that Confusion is never far away! But self-belief can outshine Doubt and Confusion. Self-belief changed my life. Self-belief picked up a pen in 1998 and hasn’t stopped writing since. Self-belief wrote a whole new script for my life, where I no longer play the victim. I am the heroine, I am the knight in shimmering armour, I am the seed of the stars.

Illuminated Self-Belief

If self-belief, my ordinary, mundane, everyday self-belief, can change my life so dramatically, imagine what ILLUMINATED self-belief could do!! A woman clad in illuminated self-belief could do anything. She could change the world. Oh, there is no end to what such a woman could do.

The light of her self-belief would shine into every corner of her life and send her Shadows scurrying. No, her light would be so bright that even her Shadows would want to bask in it. Her light would be so bright that all those fears and doubts that hide in all the nooks and crannies of her life would be seen for what they are … false beliefs that dissipate into glittering dust under the illumination of true self-belief.

In Richard’s Heart of Peace meditation, he says, “it all comes back to this … you’ve got to love yourself.” Illuminated self-belief leaves you no other choice … you HAVE got to love yourself, because your light shows you for what you truly are … Starseed! Golden. Beautiful. A wonder in the world.

We had lots of fun, experimenting with light painting at the West Kennet Avenue, an ancient avenue of standing stones which lead to the Avebury stone circle. This was the first time I've done any light painting photography, and I rather love it. My husband kindly danced around with a torch, while I did long-exposure shots.

Changing My World

If I can change my own world so dramatically … and I have, even if others can’t see the difference in me … 20-year-old me, 30-year-old, 40-, 50-year-old me, they would not recognise the confident, loving, magnificent, creative woman I have become … then maybe there is a possibility that I can truly change the world.

Wow! That is huge! That is incredible. I have that potential in me. We all have. We are all Starseeds. Imagine a world where every being illuminated their little patch of the planet with deep self-belief. There would be no wars, no conflict. There would be a world of people who love themselves and who cannot help but love everyone else.

Because that is what happens when you truly embrace self-belief. You do not become selfish, thinking you are better than anyone else. The walls around your heart and your mind are flung open, and you want everyone to experience self-belief, because you know it would change their lives and it would change the world.

So, this is how illuminated self-belief changes the world … I shine so brightly in my own self-belief that I light the way for others to embrace their own.

Because who would not want to radiate self-belief?! Who would not want to shine with inner starlight?! Who would not want to scatter seeds of that light for others to see?

Self-belief can change your life. And its ripples can wash out and change the world. I don’t need to stand on the world’s stage to bring about transformation. I just need to stand on my own small stage of my own small life, I just need to be the star in my own show; and I need only shine my light for others to see that they too hold all that glittering potential inside themselves.
